“This is concrete painting because each painting is a new reality.” – Sandú Darié
Considered an integral part of Cuba’s Concrete art scene, Sandú Darié (1908-1991) was one of the most avid champions of Modernism and non-figurative abstraction in Cuba, and a founding member of the Diez Pintores Concretos group. Darié works present the principal elements of Concrete art, a combination of planes, primary colors, and form fused with geometric rigor.
