FocusOn: Genesis Tramaine— A Glimpse into Artistic Brilliance

Miami— February 16, 2023 — #FocusOn Genesis Tramaine (American, b. 1983). We’re pleased to feature a stunning piece by Tramaine, now on view at Tresart’s loft, in the heart of Wynwood District, Miami.

Tramaine’s artistic journey is rooted in a solid academic foundation, having earned her M.S from Pace University and her B.S from Utica College of Syracuse University. Her academic background serves as a foundation for her artistic endeavors, contributing to the depth and intellectual underpinnings of her work.

Renowned for her striking near-abstract portraits, Genesis Tramaine draws inspiration from diverse influences, including biblical hymns and the expressive figuration of 1980s New York graffiti art. Her work transcends conventional boundaries, offering a glimpse into a world where emotions stand out.

Tramaine’s impactful career has left an indelible mark worldwide, highlighted by her artist residency at the Rubell Museum in Miami in 2020. This experience further solidified her influential presence in the contemporary art scene. Notably, her works grace prestigious museum collections, including the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Miami, the Contemporary Art Foundation in Tokyo, and the National Gallery of Arts in Washington, D.C. More recently, Tramaine’s work has been showcased in The Echo of Picasso exhibition, presented by Museo Picasso Málaga.
