Renowned for his hair-raising and intriguing landscapes, Bas draws inspiration from a diverse array of influences spanning the Romantic era of the 18th century and the Decadent movement of the 19th, literature, mythology, and queer culture.

Born and raised in Miami, Bas’s artistic journey began at the New World School of the Arts, where he honed his skills and developed his distinct artistic voice. Influenced by the Romantic ideals of individualism, imagination, and the exploration of nature, Bas infuses his artworks with a sense of poetic resonance and emotional depth. His works often evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing, inviting viewers to ponder the complexities of the human experience.

At the heart of Bas’s captivating narratives lies the recurring character of the adolescent dandy—an enigmatic figure that serves as the protagonist in many of his works.
